has anyone actually tested the vinegar meathod?

i don't have any lemon or lime juice on hand, has anyone successfully used vinegar? otherwise i find this recipe very useful.

I used vinegar in the past.
It does work - but think of a giant diffuser.

Your house will smell like vinegar!
