Laser Hair Removal

Important Facts to Consider

Laser hair removal is fast, and does effectively remove hair, but it is a temporary solution.

So don't go in expecting permanent hair removal, you'll be disappointed.

Laser light simply cannot penetrate deeply enough into the follicle to reach the papilla, which is the life-giving area at the very base of the hair root.

Are You A Candidate?

For effective laser hair removal treatment, the hair must be noticeably darker than the surrounding skin. Laser light targets melanin, which gives the hair its color. This is why only brown or black hair can be removed using laser technology and it is not as effective on darker complexions or very tanned skin.

If an individual is a good candidate for laser treatment, it is effective in reducing the amount of hair or causing them to grow in thinner or lighter in color.

MORE CONSIDERATIONS

There is heat involved in the procedure which can cause discomfort, even pain. This is especially true for people with darker skin as lasers target melanin, which dark skin has an abundance of.

Multiple treatments are necessary in order to achieve satisfactory hair reduction. Treatments must be done by a licensed, capable practitioner. Do not attempt this procedure yourself, it could result in skin damage and permanent scarring.

Lasers are effective in treating ingrown hairs as they're close to the surface of the skin. Consider laser treatment if you are plagued by persistent ingrown hairs.
